Reset, Refocus, Review: AIIP 2022 Conference “Takeaways” Process and New Watch Party
By Liz McLean
September is a time to reset and refocus for a productive end to 2022. And it’s an ideal time for a strategic pause to revisit some of the great topics and energies delivered at the #AIIP22 virtual conference in April 2022. Conference participants told us they loved the inspiration, learning, and conversations that grew from diverse and engaging speakers and topics.
Conference Chair June Boyle, Program Chair Rachel Yang, and conference volunteers provided experiences to develop ourselves, our skills, our views, and our AIIP community. As the conference concluded, we had our takeaway notes on concepts and practices that energized us. Then we got back to business. So where did those notes go?!?
Checking in with a “Takeaways” event
To help members revisit learning experiences from the April conference, AIIP’s conference committee hosted a June event to check in on the top takeaways. Doing so after a bit of time had passed helped us see what emerged as outstanding and to find out how participants in the conference applied what they learned to their business practices.
We used prompts and our collaborative virtual whiteboard to capture ideas, “a-ha” moments, and visions for future conferences. It was a great session full of engagement and reflection on our collective memorable knowledge nuggets. The session revived that same sense of inspiration we took away in April. We asked:
- What speaker, concept, or session sparked you the most? How have you applied that learning or strategy since? Any results?
- Was there a topic or idea that you found easy to incorporate (like low hanging fruit for a quick win)? Any results?
- Did you have any “light bulb” moments during networking sessions?
- Which speakers would you like to learn more from?
Attendees’ responses told us how topics or practices have helped business or personal development and how conference benefits can be extended and expanded on in a post-conference environment. And let’s not forget networking!
Join the Watch Party!
One of the common themes heard during the #AIIP22 Conference Takeaways session was a desire to re-watch speaker sessions as a group. We decided to host a Watch Party.
Mark your calendar now to join us on Tuesday, September 13 at 12 PM EDT. In our virtual conference platform, we’ll watch a recording of “Using Digital Tech for Social Impact,” an #AIIP22 session featuring Multiverz founder and AIIP member Randeep Sudan. Share your reactions and thoughts via chat and hear more from Randeep in real time as you watch and learn.
If you missed Randeep’s session or want to watch it again, look for upcoming announcements with details on how to participate in the Watch Party.
You may purchase access to this recording as part of a conference recordings package of 15 sessions for just $99 USD. If you plan to join the Watch Party, be sure to purchase conference recordings by September 10. More details are available at https://bit.ly/aiip22recordings. Hope to see you at the Watch Party!
