President’s Message: Revisiting the AIIP 2021 Conference
By Karen Klein
After attending a conference or workshop, I am always energized and filled with lots of good ideas (and intentions): tools to incorporate, books to read, and people to connect with. Unfortunately, when I return to the office or, in this wacky state of COVID-19 and virtual events, stay in my office, I get caught up in the day-to-day busyness and my good intentions fall by the wayside.
After attending #AIIP21 – The Virtual Conference for Independent Info Pros, I almost fell into the same trap. But this time I made sure that I connected with attendees on LinkedIn, ordered a few books, and incorporated new tips into my repertoire.
One thing I left on the table, however, was taking advantage of re-watching the recorded keynotes and education sessions that were part of the conference registration price. One of the silver linings of our virtual conference is being able to watch the conference recording through April 2022. This comes in handy especially for sessions that ran concurrently or if you simply wish to be inspired all over again.
Like previous years, this year’s conference sessions followed one of four themes: business development, personal enrichment, professional development, and tools of the trade. Keynote speakers Emily Binder and Micki Vandeloo were interesting and thought-provoking. Micki encouraged attendees to embrace adversity by using challenging moments to recalibrate. Emily explored the adoption rate of voice technology and this fascinating, fast-growing space. Many of our AIIP members shared their expertise on topics ranging from consulting in the new normal to attracting the clients you love and dealing with change.
If you registered for the conference, you’re in luck. Simply go to https://virtual21.aiip.org/ and select Recordings. From there you can scroll through the sessions menu and watch any of them at your convenience.
If you didn’t register for the AIIP21 Conference, never fear. You can still purchase access to the same recordings by following the prompts on the Register page.
Some readers might be thinking about joining AIIP and haven’t made the leap yet. This is a great opportunity to join and get access to the rich content of AIIP21. You can bundle an AIIP membership with the conference recordings and get the same terrific content through next April.
I am adding “Watch conference recordings” to my to do list and hope you will do the same.
